South Central Region Hispanic Ministry - KentuckyThe South Central Region Hispanic Ministry is blessed to have the Lincoln Baptist Association as a faithful partner. The Story of Jesus Baptist Church (La Iglesia Bautista "La Historia De Jesús") now supports LBA and we rejoice to be a part of the tremdous work that our DOM Gary King and the sister churches are doing in Lincoln County. The Hispanic church meets at the worship center located at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg, Kentucky. Our Hispanic brothers chose the name because Sister Annette Story had a great part in the beginning of this ministry. We glorify God (Dios) and in His presence we thank Him for the Lincoln Baptist Association. The Hispanic church (La Iglesia) knows the Bible ( La Biblia) teaches us to be cooperative in our mission giving. Therefore they support and participate in the (el Programa Cooperativo) Cooperative Program. We are attempting to increase in our giving and we pray that your church will increase giving to the Lincoln Baptist Association and the Cooperative Program as well. They also have participated in the Eliza Broadus Offering (La Ofrenda) and are anticipating giving to the Lottie Moon Offering. The Hispanic church has just completed the Naco, Mexico project. The children and adults have saved their change and we will be sending 1000.00 to purchase Christmas gifts for the children. We will soon be filling the shoe boxes to send to Operation Christmas Child. The Hispanic church will also participate in Find It Here (Encuéntrelo Aquí). They will be doing it on a personal basis instead of going door to door. We have shared the Prayer Walk Cards (Caminatas De Oración). They are praying for the lost souls of Lincoln County. KBC is helping us will billboards in Spanish throughout the region. Also they will be helping by place announcements in Spanish on radio and tv stations. We have ordered 2000 Hispanic packets for the South Central Region. We trust God to give increase and raise up workers for His harvest (La Cosecha). The Hispanic church is grateful for the Lincoln County schools in their tremendous work in teaching English to our Hispanic children. Now we have young adults that have graduated from High School teaching Sunday School. The classes are in English. It tickles me to hear the children talk with the Lincoln County accent. They are our future. Bob Sena of the North American Mission Board of the SBC that in 2007, there were 45.5 million Hispanics in the United States, an increase of 374% since 1970. This rapid growth in the Hispanic population has been driven, until recently by immigration. In this decade, however, the majority of growth in the Hispanic population has come from births. By 2050, the U.S. Census Bureau projects that the Hispanic population will triple to over a 132 million. The Hispanic adults are using the Spanish Sunday school literature printed by Lifeway. I am grateful to use this material along with the Bible. We have Hispanics teaching the classes. We have a class for men and a class for the ladies. We are also using a Bible study to be shared in the home. This is to encourage additional Bible Study. There are seventeen studies that we have available. These studies have questions to be answered and graded. I will share with you more in my next report. Blessings Ken & Jealetta Roberts 1 859 749 3497 cell hnoken08@yahoo.com
